📜 Terms of Use

Welcome! Trade-in-Favors is a free, local, adults-only board where neighbors offer and ask for favors and trade them without money.

Effective date: October 20, 2026 · Last updated: October 20, 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are the rules for using the website trade-in-favors.com (and tradeinfavors.com) and the Trade-in-Favors app (together, the “Board”).

The Board is operated by Khare Impact Organization, Inc., a Florida nonprofit corporation, doing business as Trade-in-Favors (“KIO,” “we,” “us”), 27317 Green Willow Run, Wesley Chapel, FL 33544. KIO runs the Board under a license from the owner of the Trade-in-Favors name and materials.

Please read these Terms. By checking “I agree” or by using the Board, you accept them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Board. Sections 13–16 limit our responsibility and ask you to accept certain risks. Please read those sections carefully.

1. Who can use the Board

2. How the Board works

3. No money, no fees

4. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for:

5. What you may not post or trade (prohibited)

Posts must not offer, request, or promote:

  1. Licensed professional services without the required license. This includes, for example: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, general or building contracting, pool and spa work, pest control, mold work, home inspection, cosmetology, barbering, nail and skin services, real estate, accounting/tax preparation for pay, legal advice or representation, and veterinary care. If you hold the license, follow all laws, and say so in your post, you may offer that service. You are responsible for checking the license rules where you live. Whoever receives a service is responsible for verifying that the provider holds any required license. KIO doesn’t verify licenses.
  2. Medical, dental, mental-health, nursing, pharmacy, or massage services, including injections, IVs, wound care, medication help, therapy, and bodywork, even if you are licensed. (The Board isn’t set up to handle health care safely.)
  3. Childcare, babysitting, tutoring of minors alone, or any favor where a minor does the work or receives the service. The Kids resources section, if offered, is an information list only.
  4. Firearms, ammunition, explosives, fireworks, or weapons, or parts for them.
  5. Alcohol, tobacco, vapes, marijuana/THC/CBD, hemp products, illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, or prescription or over-the-counter medications.
  6. Live animals (selling, trading, rehoming, or breeding). Pet-care favors such as dog walking may be allowed if they’re lawful, but you’re responsible for the animal’s safety.
  7. Food that isn’t safe or allowed. Home-made food may only be offered if it’s the kind allowed under your state’s cottage food law (for example, shelf-stable breads, cookies, cakes, candies, jams, honey, dry herbs), is prepackaged and labeled as that law requires, and is otherwise lawful. Not allowed: foods that need refrigeration, meat, fish, eggs, dairy, home-canned vegetables, sauces like salsa, cut fresh fruit, and anything else outside the cottage food rules. Licensed food businesses must follow their own permits.
  8. Sexual content or services, dating or escort offers, or anything exploitative.
  9. Rides offered as a business or for pay, or any driving without a valid license and insurance. Casual rides between neighbors are at both people’s own risk; check your auto insurance first.
  10. Stolen, counterfeit, recalled, or hazardous items, or anything that infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark, or privacy.
  11. Hate, harassment, threats, discrimination, scams, spam, pyramid schemes, or impersonation.
  12. Anything else illegal or that we reasonably believe is unsafe.

We may update this list. The current list is also shown on the Board.

6. Safety tips for meeting and swapping

These tips are not a guarantee of safety:

7. Taxes on bartering

The IRS generally treats bartered goods and services as taxable income at fair market value, even when no money changes hands. You are responsible for your own taxes and records. KIO does not track swaps, value them, or issue tax forms, and doesn’t give tax advice. Talk with a tax professional if you have questions.

8. Your content and the license you give us

9. Moderation, removal, and reporting

10. Copyright complaints

If you believe something on the Board infringes your copyright, email info@khim.org with: your contact info; the work; where the content is; a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn’t authorized; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and you’re the owner or authorized to act; and your signature. We may remove repeat infringers.

11. No endorsement of users, businesses, or events

Listings in the Local makers & markets, Kids resources, and Events sections, and any user’s post or feedback, are not endorsements by KIO. We don’t check licenses, permits, food safety, insurance, quality, or prices. Check for yourself before you rely on anyone.

12. Sponsors and donations

13. Assumption of risk

Trading favors with people you don’t know carries real risks, including personal injury, illness, property damage, theft, poor-quality or unfinished work, no-shows, scams, and harmful behavior by others. You understand that KIO does not screen users or supervise swaps. You freely choose to accept these risks when you use the Board, meet anyone, or do or receive any favor.

14. Disclaimers

The Board is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, KIO disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We don’t promise the Board will be error-free, always available, or that any post, user, distance, or listing is accurate, safe, or legal.

15. Release and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

16. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the KIO Parties from any claims, losses, damages, fines, and costs (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from: your posts; your swaps, meetings, or services; your breaking these Terms; or your breaking any law or anyone else’s rights.

17. Disputes between users

Disputes about a swap are between the people involved. KIO may (but doesn’t have to) help point you to resources, but we don’t decide who is right. Many disputes can be settled with a calm conversation, a written note of what was agreed, or community mediation.

18. Florida law and where disputes go

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and by applicable federal law. Any lawsuit about the Board or these Terms must be brought only in the state courts located in Pasco County, Florida (or the federal court for that district, if it has jurisdiction), and you agree to those courts’ authority. Either side may use small claims court where it qualifies. Any claim must be brought within one (1) year after it arises, where the law allows that limit.

19. Ending use; changes

20. Other legal terms

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and KIO about the Board. If any part can’t be enforced, the rest stays in effect, and the unenforceable part is limited to the minimum extent needed. Our not enforcing a term isn’t a waiver. You can’t transfer these Terms; we may transfer them to a successor operator. Headings are for convenience only.
